Use workbook pages 2 and 3 to help identify relationship needs for each identified relationship or relationship category. Remember that boundaries are bidirectional and so are needs. Therefore, it is important to consider what the other person’s needs are as well as your own.
Use workbook page three to set limits in what you are willing to say yes or no to. Think about what you would do or have done, give our get, and reveal or hear.
Although individuals need to establish their own personal needs and limits, I recommend that program groups work together to establish boundaries using some of the same exercises used for individuals. Doing so models and supports the importance of clear boundaries. It also sets a context for frontline workers to communicate clear boundaries to service recipients.
